Dumb ,Dumb and Dumber

I can’t as a matter of fact find a more suitable headline for it…..what am I talking about you may ask  ?  ….it’s  the current ignominy or putting it mildly dumb comedy  in the Nigeria football circle.

The thing is .....You have to take me as the dummy! because i am the one trying to make sense out of the many geniuses in the football circle in nigeria 

let's start with the first dumb part that means i have to quickly update you ,just in case you are as dumb and  lost as i am  on the many dramas associated with football in Nigeria .

Taking it from the guardian newspaper  ;

 Penultimate week, a group of football stakeholders had formed a parallel body to run football in the country after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Aminu Maigari, deposed to an affidavit that the body had nothing to do with the name, Nigeria Football Association (NFA), which is the legally recognized body to administer football in the country.

The parallel NFA had, through its facilitator and Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) Harrison Jalla, petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to enforce the decision of a Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Okon Abang, which had earlier nullified the August 26 election that brought in the Maigari-led NFF board, declaring it illegal.

DUMB; my first dumb question here is .......is it possible that a group that has no locus standi in football, not recognized by any of the state FA's ,not recognized by FIFA ,not voted in by any election wether rigged or true, can set themselves up not as a pressure group ;fighting the ills in the football house but as the interim board of the nigeria football association and are set to take over the headquarters of the NFA /NFF .......OKAY I HAVE A PROBLEM. THE QUESTIONS HAVE  BECOME TOO MUCH FOR MY DUMB HEAD,SORRY I HAVE TO MOVE ON .

Now enter the wiser big brother of sports in nigeria, the national sports commission ;the parent body of all sports in nigeria .The gist is that NSC in all its wisdom called the NFF and the parallel NFA ( who says parallel lines  don't meet ) to a meeting to resolve the matter and find a lasting solution to whatever it is that it is ,but alas when too many geniuses gather, unlimited brain matter scatter ,as shown by the director general of the NSC Patrick Ekeji whose settlement skills/threatening skills  is aptly  described in the Pilot

The Director-General, who employed his good office to intervene, summoned the warring parties to an all important meeting in his office, where he tongue lashed the Maigari-led board for not keeping to the earlier agreement between them and the National Association of Nigerian Footballers, but rather went ahead accusing the government officials of interference.

 DG maintained that the failure to resolve the impasse which is almost grounding the country’s football at the time every football-loving Nigerian believes we are rebuilding, will force the government to sack the NFF and invite the world football governing body to set up a normalisation committee in line with FIFA Statutes

DUMB 2 Great intentions ,DG but what started out as settlement for Jalla and the NFF (at least in their earlier days) has now escalated into a parallel body set by one of the disgruntled parties who probably not properly settled has decided to facilitate a parallel NFA that will meet his own desires , really again what does a dumb guy like me know? just a dumb rambler forgive me .


Now for the home run- the brilliant DG tells everybody that time is of the essence and the best way to settle this impasse is to do what most wise men would do and that is to follow the star in the sky -and travel this time around not to bethlehem in judea but  to ZURICH in Switzerland where a new king ooops ...sorry president has been named ,to seek advise on how peace can return to football in nigeria .

DIRECTOR General of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Patrick Ekeji has disclosed that FIFA will intervene in the crisis between parallel bodies, Nigeria Football Association, NFA, led by Harisson Jala and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF led by Alhaji Aminu Maigari.
