Taking a look at the sports pages in Nigerian dailies this morning the first thought that crossed my mind was --   Gani Fawehinmi 22 APRIL 1938-5 SEPT 2009 would have loved a piece of this kind of action,pity the great legal luminary is no more , am pretty sure he would loved to have a go at some these cases,, or probably pass it on to the likes of Festus Keyamo  -yeah Keyamo would probably have more experience with cases like this -wonder what the chap is up to these days

THE PROPHECY -AMODU WILL RETURN

Like a bad coin….that always comes back. hey why the heck am I so harsh ….Joe Erico who was an assistant to Shuaibu Amodu when they were fired in 2002 , has predicted prophesied that the once again  fired redeployed coach of the super eagles AMODU SHUAIBU ….note …redeployed is the new word for sack- funny how these guys coin new phrases for coaches getting sacked …since the José Mourinho mutual consent thing with Chelsea ….will make another return to coach the super eagles …sometime soon…yikes ....hopefully not during another world cup year .

MIKEL’S AGENT IN ALMOST SUCCESSFUL $500,000 SCAM/DEAL

If English man Glen Hoddle had ended up as the technical adviser of Nigeria senior national team -the Super Eagles instead of the Swede Lars Lagerback the agent of Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi John Ola Shittu would have ended up with a cool $500,000 in his pocket according to The Nigerian Tribune

The Nigerian Tribune reported that Ola Shittu was so miffed that his man? Did not get the Nigerian technical adviser job /or better still …..Miffed he was going to lose out on a big pay day …..500,000 big ones….. He concocted that some members of the interview panel had demanded a kick-back- from who exactly…..not that they are saints anyway - which led to an embarrassing wild goose chase by Presidential Task Force (PTF) Chairman, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi,

According to Tribune sports investigations, Gov. Saraki and Shittu went to the PTF Chairman to complain that the British coach was 'robbed' which led to an investigative panel that looked into the allegations which were found to be baseless and malicious.

Revelation further showed and described the player agent as an interloper and a confusionist who had smuggled himself into Hoddle’s camp like the thief in the night wanting to be a part of the team that would benefit from Hoddle's financial gains from the contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

He would have pocketed the sum of $500,000 for being part of the Hoddle team.

AMODU IS EITHER A GENIUS OR.......

Amodu is either a genius or……. I have to be careful here because as a student of history I have discovered one thing geniuses, prophets, messiahs, great leaders, fools, megalomaniacs, and egoistic idiots in public positions who have the opportunity of getting the attention of a mob/crowd, have in common. This is the singular ability to go against the norm in reasoning, speech patterns, behavior, and lifestyle. And then this singular characteristic as history will have it endears the people into a sycophantic follower ship wherein they are worshipped, heralded as greats, even deified or in other case they generate hatred and mistrust so deep that these ones end up being sometimes killed, or scorned for generations and then in the end become reference points for the generations, but what ever the case they make it to the history books. Now with that in mind I leave my readers to judge for themselves the place of Amodu Shuaibu in the soon to be written annals of football history on the road to the world cup -South Africa 2010. When asked by the always nosy Nigerian sports press about the friendly game between the super eagles of Nigeria which he is the head coach and the reggae Boyz of Jamaica -a match which was judged by 150million Nigerians who for God knows why think they understand what the technical intricacies of watching a football match is all about as lack luster, boring, uninventive ……… I could go on and on…....
